AtollMind Dhivehi Toolbar for Microsoft Word
Last updated: 8 October 2026 · Operated by Atoll Mind
The AtollMind Dhivehi Toolbar (“the toolbar”) is a free Microsoft Word add-in that checks Dhivehi spelling and looks words up in the Radheef dictionary. This policy covers the toolbar. The same tools on the web are covered by the Yaumiyya privacy policy.
Your document
The toolbar reads the text you ask it to check — your selection or your document — inside Word, on your device, and checks it there. The text of your document is never sent to us or to anyone else. It changes your document only when you accept a suggestion, and only the word you accepted.
What is sent, and when
- The word list. When the toolbar opens it asks our server which word list is current and, if your device does not have it, downloads it. These requests carry nothing about you or your document.
- A lookup. When you look a word up, that single word is sent to our server, which answers from the dictionary. Answers are the same for everyone and may be cached by our hosting provider’s network.
- A report. When you press Report, we receive the word, the suggestion, a note if you type one (up to 280 characters), the word list’s version and that it came from Word — never the text around the word, and not linked to any person.
Like any website, our hosting provider sees the IP address and browser details of each request. We use the IP address only to limit how many requests one address can make, in counters that expire within a day. The toolbar needs no account, sets no advertising or tracking cookies, and sends no analytics.
What is stored on your device
The word list, and any words you add with “Add to my words”, are kept in Word’s web storage on your device, so checking does not need the connection. Remove a word with × in My words. Removing the add-in does not delete them: they stay in Word’s web storage until it is cleared (Office’s cache on Windows and Mac, the browser’s site data for Word on the web).
Who processes data
Atoll Mind operates the toolbar and its server. The server and the dictionary are hosted on Vercel (in Singapore); reports are stored in our Supabase database. We do not sell data, and we do not use your documents for anything — we never receive them.
Children
The toolbar is a general-purpose writing tool and collects no personal information from anyone, children included.
