Step-by-step, without the animation
  1. Step 1 Look up any Dhivehi word, free

  2. Step 2 Meanings in Dhivehi, with English beside them

  3. Step 3 Type it in Thaana or in Latin letters

  4. Step 4 Open it from any page

How to use#

  1. Open Dhivehi dictionary from Home, or press the floating book button.
  2. Type a word in Thaana or common Latin spelling → Look up word.
  3. Check the interpreted Thaana word shown in the result (Latin spellings can be ambiguous).

Example scenario#

"fen" was read as ފެން and returned four senses (water, rain, …) plus related entries. "bahdhalu" was read as ބަހްދަލު and returned "No exact entry found… A missing result doesn't mean the word is incorrect."

Important notes#

  • Latin input is converted to Thaana before lookup; unusual spellings may miss. Try Thaana or a shorter root word, as the page suggests.
